23-year-old michael gray was shot in the front yard. he was taken to inova fairfax hospital, where he died. the lights are back on at the washington monument this morning after it went dark again on sunday. u-s park officials say the floodlights that illuminate the 555-foot-tall stone obelisk didn't turn on as scheduled around dusk. around 7:20, the lights were on as usual. the cause of the outage is still unknown this is the third time since january the lights at the monument have gone dark. coming up - a deadly sneak attack. the brother of the north korean leader - murdered, and it's all allegedly caught on camera. the dramatic security footage - still ahead. at 5:xx time for a

exiled half-brother of north korea's leader.. newly released surveillance video appears to show the attack at a malaysia airport. jummy olabanji is here with more. a japanese t-v station obtained the video. it appears to show a woman sneaking up behind kim jong-nam, and covering his face with a cloth. that cloth was laced with liquid poison. two women are in custody. malaysian police are searching for seven more s

ambassador to north korea has been recalled from pyongyang, amid rising tensions between the two countries. a north korean envoy is calling for a joint probe, saying the malaysian investigation is politically motivated. a pilot is miraculously alive, after crashing a small plane into a neighborhood in bayonne , new jersey. it happened yesterday morning, after the pilot radioed for help near the statue of liberty. the piper-p-a-28 hit four parked cars and some power lines, and narrowly missed a gas station. no one on the ground was hurt, but the neighborhood looked like a war zone. the plane was registered to a flight school in queens. the pilot is hospitalized in stable condition. he was the only person in the plane. an incredible scene over the weekend in our area.. as a multi-million dollar mansion burned to the ground.

6-thousand square foot home on turkey run road in mclean saturday morning. five people and two dogs were inside at the time of the fire but luckily they managed to escape unharmed due to smoke alarms. the homes location presented several challenges for crews fighting the blaze because there were no nearby fire hydrants. after 12 hours firefighters were finally able to put out the flames. there is still no word on what sparked the fire. neighbors are chipping in to help a clarksburg family after a fast-moving fire destroyed their house early sunday morning. witnesses say the fire started near the recycling bin behind the home, and quickly spread. the homeowners were able to safely escape with their two children. they are now staying at a hotel. neighbors say the family just moved into that house two weeks ago. they have started a "go-fund me" page to help them recover from the fire. today is your your last chance to say goodbye to bao bao. the giant panda cub heads to china

but believe it or not - the study says we have it pretty good compared to other cities. d-c ranked fifteenth for worst traffic in the world. the number one city though - los angeles.. where drivers wasted 104 hours in traffic congestion. moscow was number two.. followed by new york and then san francisco. bogota, coloumbia rounded out the top five. if you put all that into dollars - inrix says traffic cost american drivers an average of about 12-hundred dollars in wasted fuel and time. house speaker paul ryan and other lawmakers will take a trip to the mexican border this week. one of the goals is to see what can be done about building a wall along the border. constructing that wall was a major campaign promise by president trump. but some

overnight the houses of parliament in london became the backdrop for this large projection reading "say no to trump". today the british parliament will debate whether to rescind trump's invitation for a state visit. nearly two-million britons have signed a petition calling for the invitation to be withdrawn. a counter petition garnered 300-thousand signatures. developing now.. a 76-year-old woman is charged with murdering a man in northeast d.c. on friday, police found 63-year-old walter clark unconscious, and su

trauma. he was taken to a hospital, where he died. 76-year-old thomasine bennett was quickly arrested. police say she admitted striking clark with a bat. clark's nephew in north carolina was notified about the incident. bennett was originally charged with assault with intent to kill. but that charge was upgraded to murder when the autopsy results came back, showing clark died from blunt force trauma. it's unclear what motivated the killing. a 2-year-old boy remains in critical condition in takoma park, after getting hit by a car saturday night. it happened at this apartment complex on roanoke avenue. police say the driver stayed at the scene. neighbors have expressed concerns about the driveway where the boy was hit... saying it's a popular play area for kids. they want caution signs and even a speed-bump installed nearby. the driver is not facing any charg
